AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY

“With long life I will satisfy him, and show him My salvation." ~ Psalm 91:16
I have always been fascinated with numbers. Certain numbers and dates have significance to me, and the Lord always sends me little nuggets of encouragement at various times using numbers. When Mom was moved to her private room several days ago, I decided to go right through each book of the Bible to see if there was some significance with the number of her room…231. I looked up every verse of scripture that was either chapter 2 verse 31, or chapter 23 verse 1. There were four verses in particular that stood out to me:
Genesis 23:1 - "Sarah lived one hundred and twenty-seven years; these were the years of the life of Sarah."
Joshua 23:1 - "Now it came to pass, a long time after the Lord had given rest to Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua was old, advanced in age."
I Chronicles 23:1 - “So when David was old and full of days, he made his son Solomon king over Israel.”
Psalms 23:1 - “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
The first three verses all talk about long life — for Sarah, for Joshua, and for David. And the fourth verse assures us that our Lord and Saviour is our Shepherd and is actively watching out for us. The Hebrew definition for ‘want’ refers to "lack or to fail”. The Lord is Mom’s Shepherd, she shall not fail! These verses have encouraged me many times in the dark hours of this battle.
We speak LIFE over Mom and claim those promises in the Word!
We are still here in the battle, but Mom is a fighter. We are taking this journey one day at a time, and we count it an honour and privilege to have another day together. Mom desperately needs a miracle from the Lord. Please pray us through the night. As long as she is with us, there is still time for God to work.
