AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY

The last two weeks have been the longest weeks of my life. We feel as is we have been thrust into a war that we did not ask for or knew was before us. We have battle wounds and scars from what we have witnessed. Cancer is a demon. I am thankful that the Lord does not tell us in advance what we are to experience. If He did, we would never want to walk through those darkest valleys. But it's in those valleys that your faith is really put to the test. Do I trust Him even in this dark place? It is here in this moment that I trust Him even more.
I know more than ever before that there is an enemy to our souls. He wants to steal, kill, and destroy from each of us. We have seen his works firsthand in this storm. But, I also know more than ever before that there is a loving, compassionate Saviour who holds us when we are hurting. The more I see the works of the enemy, the more I will declare the goodness of God.
We don't understand God's ways. Why would He allow us to go through something so painful? We don't know, but we do know that in the midst of our pain, we feel no defeat. We feel the peace of the Lord in this raging storm. Our days are filled with prayer, speaking the Word, worshipping our Lord, and loving on Mom.
My precious Mama desperately needs Jesus to touch her today. We still look up to Jesus to perform a miracle...to do the impossible. And while we continue to wait, we cling to the cross.
